Water levels decrease at Duduza reservoir

Water tankers have been deployed to affected areas.

Technicians are closely monitoring the water level at the Duduza reservoir, resulting in a supply interruption to Duduza, Tsakani and surrounding areas.

The city has provided roving water tankers to these affected areas to mitigate the interruption’s effect:

• Duduza Ext 3;
• Langaville Ext 10; and
• Tsakani exts 19, 20 and 21.

The city appeals to the community to use water sparingly and to practise, among others, the following:

• Avoid washing cars with hosepipes and use buckets instead;
• Avoid watering gardens during the day and opt for the early morning or evening hours;
• Rather sweep than use a hosepipe to clean pavements;
• Turn off taps while brushing teeth;
• Take short showers and avoid filling the bathtub; and
• Reuse water as much as possible. Reuse the water from washing clothes and rinsing fruits and vegetables for other purposes.

Residents can expect updates on any developments through the city’s digital platforms.
