Push and Pass LFA Winter Games launched

Affiliations are still in process. The co-ordinators are looking to affiliate 24 teams from each age group.

Tsakani – The Push and Pass LFA Winter Games launched on Saturday.

The tournament is being co-ordinated by the Brakpan Local Football Club Association (BLFA) chairperson, Charles Mokoena along with Venus Mmetle.

The launch was initially scheduled to take place at LaRover Lifestyle but the venue was changed to Tsakane Old Age Home. This led to a reduced number of attendees.

“Today’s programme went well but we were disappointed with the amount of people who showed up.

“I appreciate the people from Tsakani and the sponsors who came. Hopefully next time we will have a better turnout,” Mokoena said.

Mokoena revealed that the games will commence on June 17 featuring games from the U11, U13 and U15 teams. The senior teams’ games will begin on June 22.

“The community will benefit from this tournament. Our goal is to help young stars get recognition. We are hoping that scouts will be present to see the young players,” he said.

Affiliations are still in process. The co-ordinators are looking to affiliate 24 teams from each age group.

So far, 22 senior teams and 11 junior teams have affiliated. The draw will be held on June 1 at the same venue.
