Break in at licence renewal drive-thru

Investigations concerning the business burglary are ongoing and arrests are imminent.

Kwa-Thema – On Monday morning, the EMPD Licence Division employees discovered a burglary at their premises.

Those who reported for duty noticed the building was ransacked, and an undisclosed amount of cash was missing from the safe, which was mounted on the wall.

“The staff members summoned the EMPD Security and Loss Control and SAPS. Preliminary investigations revealed the break-in could have occurred between Saturday and Sunday nights since there were reports of a power failure in the vicinity,” explained Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa, spokesperson for the EMPD.

Investigations concerning the business robbery are ongoing, and arrests are imminent.
