Soccer giants to clash in Mbombela

Supporters are encouraged to behave appropriately, win or lose.

Mamelodi Sundowns will battle Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, and the fans are ready for action.

“Congratulations to Sundowns on being the seven-time league champions. But now they are about to walk into their seven years of famine!” said Orlando Pirates supporter Rangwane Makgabutlane.

He admitted Sundowns is a challenging opponent, and that Pirates need to bring their A-game if they have any chance of a win.

“When you play against them, you must know your business. I think our boys have prepared adequately. We don’t want to be humiliated in front of the whole nation,” he added.

Makgabutlane predicts the Pirates will win the game 1-0.

“No matter what the outcome is, we encourage all the supporters to behave themselves at the stadium.

“Let us respect each other and the game of soccer,” he concluded.

His prediction was not received well.

“Pirates owe us! They always give us trouble in cup games. They stole the MTN8 from us last time. And now it is time for them to pay,” said Mmeselane Ramoshu, a die-hard Sundowns supporter.

He said he has complete confidence in coach Rhulani Mokwena.

“He has never won a cup with the team, so I think he has a point to prove. The management made sure he has the best players in the country. Now he must make the right picks and ensure we come out victorious,” added Ramosha.

The match will start at 15:00.

Rangwane Makgabutlane and Mmeselane Ramoshu are on opposite ends of the Nedbank Cup Final.
