EMPD arrests man in Kwa-Thema for possession of stolen vehicle

In a swift operation, the EMPD Eastern Region Task Team swooped in on a Mozambican man in Kwa-Thema, nabbing him for possession of a stolen vehicle

Kwa-Thema – After receiving a tip-off about a stolen vehicle in Kwa-Thema, the EMPD Eastern Region Task Team arrested a Mozambican man (36) for possession of it on Friday at 07:20.

Officers saw the vehicle matching the description provided on the corner of Majola and Lepele streets. Upon investigation, they learnt it was stolen from inside a yard in Thembisa.

The driver said he bought the LDV in Daveyton for R25 000 but failed to produce proof.

The officers immediately arrested him and detained him at the Kwa-Thema Police Station. The vehicle went to a police yard for safekeeping.
