Kwa-Thema residents warned of police impersonators and fraudulent searches

Residents are urged to be vigilant of criminals masquerading as law enforcers.

Kwa-Thema – Three men posing as police officials visited a local residence on October 15 at about 11:00.

They presented a fraudulent search warrant, gained entry and searched the premises. The imposters told the victim they would return on Saturday.

When the victim’s husband returned home, he found a large sum of money missing from his work bag.

Residents are urged to be vigilant of criminals masquerading as law enforcers.

Warning signs:
• The imposters did not provide their names or badges.
• Their search warrant was fraudulent.
• They demanded entry without proper identification.
• They separated the homeowner during their search.

Protect yourself:
1. Verify all officers’ identities: Ask for names, badges and contact information.
2. Confirm search warrants: Call the police station to verify their legitimacy.
3. Don’t let in strangers: Ensure proper verification before granting entry.
4. Stay vigilant: Immediately report suspicious activity.

To report suspicious activity:

Stay safe, stay Informed:
Remember, legitimate police officers will always:
• identify themselves;
