City gives water supply update

Some areas in the CoE are experiencing water supply interruptions due to high water demand and low reservoir levels.

The key locations affected include Germiston, Bedfordview, Springs and Kwa-Thema.

Below is the current water supply update per area:

• Kwa-Thema: The situation has improved because the reservoirs have recovered from yesterday’s low levels, resulting in a stable water supply.
• Springs: The Persida reservoir has not yet recovered. The reservoir’s water level remains low because its elevation typically results in a longer recovery than other reservoirs.

The city has deployed water tankers across various affected areas to ensure residents can access water.
