Raising soccer takes global stage

Rethabile Molefe, the 14-year-old star from Kwatsaduza, is set to make her mark at the COSAFA U17 Girls Championship, continuing her journey from U15 national team captain to international football standout.

Duduza – Rethabile Molefe will make Kwatsaduza proud again when she participates in the COSAFA U17 Girls Championship.

Molefe (14) is part of the U17 Women’s National Team (WNT) and is no stranger to international competitions.

She used to play for the U15 national team, where she was captain.

“I am fortunate to be in the position that I am in. At some point, I realised I had to push harder to get the results.

“I am grateful for my parents, who are my biggest supporters. But they also push me to do my best each time I have an opportunity,” she said.

She also thanked the coach Mkhonza Mkhonzana from her local team, Home Sweepers.

The COSAFA U17 Girls’ Championship games will be from December 4 to 13 in Gauteng.
