La Rover FC downs PCF in league game

The La Rover FC made a mockery of PCF on December 8 at the Bhorman ground in Tsakani when they won 3-0.

Tsakani – The Kwatsaduza Masters League teams played their first games in the Crazy Pop Cup on December 8 at the Bhoman ground in Tsakani.

The first game between La Rover FC and PCF started on a heated note, with supporters cheering from all corners of the ground.

PFC lost 3-0 to La Rover and their coach, Dan Mavundla, expressed his disappointment, “We made many mistakes in the first half, which resulted in our loss. Our defence strategies did not work in our favour. Our goalkeeper also made a lot of mistakes in favour of our opponents.

“In the second half, we tried to come back stronger. We created chances for ourselves, and the only reason we lost is because we failed to use all the opportunities we had to score,” Mavundla explained.

La Rover FC coach Luvuyo Manyika said he was happy his team beat PCF, saying they worked hard to win.

“They played extremely well in the first half. We used our opponent’s weak points to work in our favour. We attacked a lot in the first half, which is how we scored two goals.

“In the second half, we used strikers much stronger than our opposition, and that is how we scored the third goal,” said Manyika.

Thabang Shayi, the Crazy Pop sales and marketing manager, said they sponsor these league games because they noticed that master’s leagues are neglected and often overlooked.

“Many sponsors in the township concentrate more on the children and not the older teams. We decided to encourage the team through our sponsorship because these master’s leagues empower brotherhood in the township. We aim to encourage unity in the township while motivating the younger generation,” said Shayi.
