EMPD nabs three for drugs in Tsakani

The arrests were made on January 17.

Tsakani – EMPD Eastern Region Task Team officers arrested three men for possessing a substance suspected to be narcotics in Tsakani on January 17.

All are between the ages of 33 and 46.

CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said the officers received information about the men who had narcotics at various places.

“The officers proceeded to the first address on Hlophe Street in Ext 1, Langaville, and found the suspect standing outside a house. They searched him and found packets of substances suspected to be narcotics.

“The officers then went to Lebhuma and Hlaza streets, also in Langaville, and arrested two more males for possession of substances suspected to be narcotics. These narcotics vary from heroin to crystal meth with an estimated street value of R1 200,” explained Dlamini.

The suspects were detained at the Tsakane Police Station and will soon appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court.
