EMPD nabs man in Tsakani for skipping court after firearm charge

Tsakani – The EMPD Eastern Region Task Team arrested a 34-year-old man for contempt of court in Tsakani on July 10.

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, the man had been out on bail for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

“After being granted bail, he failed to attend court on the scheduled date, which led to a warrant of arrest being issued for his failure to appear,” Dlamini explained.

EMPD officers later tracked him down and arrested him in Tsakani. He was detained at the Tsakane Police Station.
