Over 15 young scouts welcomed as Motheo launches first Scout group

Something exciting is happening in Motheo. A new Scout group is giving local youth the chance to grow, lead and make a difference.

On Sunday, the newly established Motheo Scout group was officially welcomed into the Scouting movement. The group consists of more than 15 invested Scouts, aged 11 to 16, now part of a global network committed to character development, leadership and community service.

The group is sponsored by the Department of Social Development (DSD) as part of an initiative to promote youth development in the community.

Additional Scout groups have also been launched in Kwatsaduza and Daveyton, expanding access and Scouting opportunities for more youth, according to Thokozani Mkhatshwa.

“Our troop scouters are highly skilled and committed to creating a safe and enriching environment. All have completed the required training and passed criminal background checks,” Mkhatshwa said.

Parents or guardians wanting to enrol their children or learn more about Scouting in the area can call Thokozani Mkhatshwa on 076 631 1751.
