Two arrested in Kwa-Thema for house robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms
EMPD officers arrested two suspects, aged 30 and 31, in connection with a house robbery involving a stolen state firearm. The men were found with unlicensed weapons and stolen police property. They are facing multiple serious charges.
Kwa-Thema – On Friday, EMPD Specialised Services officers arrested two suspects wanted for a house robbery in Kwa-Thema. Officers acted on information received regarding a house robbery.
It is alleged that the two individuals broke into a police officer’s home and stole a safe containing a state firearm. Following this lead, members swiftly arrested two men, aged 30 and 31, in Phase 3, Kwa-Thema.
The suspects were found in possession of a CZ pistol with an obliterated serial number, a magazine loaded with five 9mm live rounds, a PX pistol and magazine with 15 live 9mm state-issued rounds, an appointment card, bank cards, a medical aid card, a pistol safe with magazine pouch, and a handcuff pouch.
Some of the recovered items are believed to belong to the police officer. Both suspects were detained at Kwa-Thema Police Station.
They face charges including housebreaking, theft, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, and possession of suspected stolen property.
