Kwa-Thema – Mamelodi Sundowns Legends beat RDP Masters by 4-1 at Kwa-Thema Stadium on Saturday.

From the first whistle, both teams threw their weight behind the ball. The over-forties put on a highly competitive and fast-paced display of football talent.

After a few missed opportunities, Sundowns found the back of the net, with Shakes Ngwenya scoring a hat-trick and Thapelo Tshilo scoring once.

In response, Pepino Gumede scored a goal for RDP.

“This is one of our social games. The turnout was poor, but I believe that most people were discouraged by the weather.

“We are definitely working on bringing in more teams, and hope that soccer fans will come out and enjoy the games,” explained Lucky Juluka Mahlangu of RDP Masters.

The friendly game was not only aimed at giving soccer fans 90 minutes of excitement but to foster relationships between former professional soccer players.
