MTN8 semis: Pirates host Sundowns in high-stakes clash
Defending champs Orlando Pirates face off against Mamelodi Sundowns in a sold-out MTN8 semifinal this Saturday. Fans are buzzing, predictions are flying, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Who will book their spot in the final?
Defending champions Orlando Pirates will meet Mamelodi Sundowns in a sold-out MTN8 semifinal on today, with fans anticipating a spectacle.
“Pirates always give us a run for our money when it comes to cup games. If it were a league game, I would be more confident. But I know the team is ready for battle. I think we really want this cup,” said Mmeselane Ramoshu, a Mamelodi Sundowns supporter.
Orlando Pirates is regrouping after a 1-0 defeat to a dominant Sekhukhune United on August 9.
“In soccer, you have to go in expecting one of three results: a win, a loss or a draw. We want to win, but will accept whatever happens.
“We do have an advantage because the Pirates are playing at home. I predict that we will win by two goals to nil. We need to cut down the Pirates a little. If we let them go this time, we might not be able to catch them again,” said Rangwane Makgabutlane, an Orlando Pirates supporter.
Makgabutlane said that the Pirates fans must give new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou a chance to make his mark. Kwatsaduza fans will meet at the Ekhaya Centre at 11:00 before making their way to Orlando.
