Powerhouse clinches victory at Amadamara 6-a-side tournament

KWA-THEMA – Amadamara recently hosted a six-a-side tournament at the Kwa-Thema Square.

“We came up with the tournament for local clubs that usually play with 11 men on the field. The six-a-side is a different formation from what we are used to,” explained Themba ‘Bhebheto’ Skosana, one of the organisers.

A total of 32 teams participated, with one team travelling from as far as Devon. The competition was won by Powerhouse, who beat the Gordons Strikers 1–0.

“We intend to host the tournament twice a year. It was successful this time, and we also learnt a lot in the process. We know that next time we will do even better,” added Skosana.

The next edition of the competition is in December.
