Tec United beats Elco Sentos 3-1 in Women’s Month Top 16 clash

Tec United fought hard to secure a 3-1 win against Elco Sentos at Malandela Ground during the third annual Women’s Month Top 16 Tournament.

Tsakani – A game between Tec United and Elco Sentos took place at the Malandela Ground on August 17.

The match formed part of the third annual Women’s Month Top 16 Tournament, which celebrates women through a soccer competition.

It was an electrifying back-and-forth that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Both teams played with skill and determination, trading goals and near misses.

The breakthrough came when Tec United scored unexpectedly, sparking wild celebrations from fans. Tec United coach Bheki Mchunu said the first half laid the foundation for a strong performance.

“We played well and started off focused. However, as the game progressed, we lost our formation, likely due to fatigue.

“The team managed to adjust and maintain form, which allowed our opponents to concede a lot of goals,” he explained.

Elco Sentos managed one goal from a free kick awarded by the referee. In the second half, Elco Sentos returned with renewed energy, resilience, and focus.

“The second half was tight. Our opponents challenged us and played very well. We kept our focus and determination and did not let them dictate the game.

“We scored three more goals in the second half, which led us to an unchallenged win,” said Mchunu.

He added that he was thrilled with the result.

“My team displayed unbreakable focus. This proves they want to win this tournament. The player I substituted brought energy to the pitch and made the win possible. I am thankful that my team won so beautifully,” he concluded.

Elco Sentos coach and players did not wish to comment.
