The Kwa-Thema CCC is open to the public after weeks of unrest. A group of concerned residents has been staging a protest outside the centre since the beginning of August.

The main concern of the group is how they believe the City of Ekurhuleni has been handling employment contracts.

They have been blocking the entrance of the CCC, demanding to be addressed by the management of the CoE.

The group has temporarily allowed work to continue at the centre until Friday.

They believe that they may be addressed on Friday and may receive answers to their questions.
