Grade Seven learners gain insight into fascinating careers
Grade Seven learners at Michael Zulu Primary School explored diverse career paths during an inspiring event.
Tsakani – Michael Zulu Primary School held a career day event for Grade Seven learners at the school on August 29.
Life Orientation teachers Thabisile Nhlapho and Khosi Sibanyoni organised the day. The aim was to broaden the learners’ perspective and knowledge while exposing them to different career options.
The school arranged a series of special events with performances, engaging activities, and presentations by learners on their career research.
Nhlapho said learners gained insight on careers they did not know about.
“Some get to know about careers they did not even imagine existed. The day’s aim is to connects learners with what they learn in class to the real world.
“Grade Sevens are being prepared for high school which is where they are required to select subjects that will lead them to their desired career field,” she explained.
She stated that early exposure is crucial because it helps learners make informed decisions about their futures and motivates them to set clear goals.
“It also encourages them to think beyond traditional career options and consider a wider range of possibilities.
“By providing access to information and role models from different professions, we hope to inspire confidence and ambition in our learners,” Sibanyoni added.
Nhlapho concluded by mentioning that the day also provides learners who may not excel academically an opportunity to uncover their skills and hidden talents.
