EMPD nets suspects and stolen bakkie

EMPD officers recovered a stolen bakkie linked to Heidelberg and arrested three undocumented men during operations in Tsakane, Nigel and Leondale.

EMPD Eastern Region Task Team officers arrested three undocumented men and recovered a stolen Ford Ranger bakkie during operations in Tsakane, Nigel and Leondale.

While patrolling in Koni Street in Tsakane, officers saw two men behaving suspiciously and stopped and searched them.

The men could not provide any identification, so officers took them to the Tsakane Police Station for further processing.

In an incident on Buxton Avenue in Nigel, officers arrested another foreign national who had no identification documents.

Later, officers received information about a stolen Ford Ranger that had been reported in Heidelberg. They found the bakkie abandoned on Antelope Avenue in Leondale and impounded it for further investigation.

Those arrested face charges related to immigration violations.
