Mzumbe coach: “We will not quit” despite setbacks
Mzumbe is crying foul following their 3-1 defeat to Amaubber in the Tsamaya Masters Social League, with their coach raising concerns about fairness and officiating.
KWA-THEMA – Mzumbe has voiced frustration after a 3-1 loss to Amaubber in the Tsamaya Masters Social League. Coach Simon ‘Shakes’ Timbane said the team has faced numerous challenges this season.
“The players always do well, but our efforts are not reflected in the results. We have raised concerns about some teams not sticking to the rules, but no one pays attention.
“Even the referees seem to have something against Mzumbe. It breaks my heart, and the rest of the team is disheartened,” he explained.
Timbane joined the team last year when Mzumbe was struggling in the league.
“I came with passion and experience. The team was in bad shape, I won’t lie. But I was committed, and soon we climbed to the top spot,” he said.
Despite the setbacks, Timbane confirmed the team will remain in the league.
“We are going to be in the Tsamaya Top 8. We will show them on the field who we really are. We will not quit,” he said.
Mzumbe is currently fourth in the league.
