EMPD Arrests Undocumented Suspect After Recovering Hijacked Car in Kwa-Thema

An undocumented 25-year-old man was arrested after EMPD officers recovered a hijacked vehicle near a school in Kwa-Thema.

Kwa-Thema – EMPD Eastern Region Task Team officers nabbed a 25-year-old undocumented man on March 10. Officers also recovered a reported hijacked motor vehicle in the Benoni and Kwa-Thema areas.

“In Kwa-Thema, officers drove into an abandoned white Kia motor vehicle, next to Langaville Secondary School.

“The suspicious motor vehicle was inspected, and it came out positive as robbed/hijacked from the owner, with a Springs case number,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

All the essential stakeholders were notified, and the motor vehicle was taken to Aeroton SAPS pound for safekeeping.

The apprehended suspect, who contravened the Immigration Act, is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
