Missing 75-year-old woman last seen going to Home Affairs

The family of 75-year-old Rhina Ester Matshika is searching for answers after she disappeared while travelling to the Home Affairs office in Springs.

Kwa-Thema – The family of Rhina Ester Matshika is appealing to the community for assistance in locating the 75-year-old after she went missing on March 25.

According to information shared by the family, Matshika was last seen at about 10:00 after leaving her home in Barcelona Ext 2, Kwa-Thema, to visit the Home Affairs office in Springs to update her Smartcard.

It is believed she went to the Springs office, where personnel reportedly confirmed she completed her process around midday.

Matshika was wearing a light grey jersey with fur at the time of her disappearance. She is about 1.6m tall, weighs approximately 70kg, has a dark complexion and grey/white hair.

Family members described her as kind but said she may become confused at times.

A witness reportedly saw a woman matching her description in Duduza (Nigel), near Ban Radebe Primary School, sitting quietly and asking for water.

Since leaving home, Matshika has not returned, and her family has grown increasingly worried about her safety.
