Duduza – The Duduza SAPS received a report of a shooting in Bluegum-View, Duduza, at about 10:00 on June 6.

According to Ekurhuleni SAPS district spokesperson Captain Neldah Sekgobela, upon arrival at the scene, the police found a 44-year-old man who had been shot multiple times and had succumbed to his injuries.

It is alleged that the deceased was shot by someone known to him, and had fled the scene.

“The suspect was traced and arrested in Sandringham. The firearm, believed to have been used to commit the crime, was seized.

“He was then brought back to Duduza SAPS for detention,” explained Sekgobela.

A murder docket has been opened by the Duduza SAPS. The motive is still unknown and the police are still investigating.
