After Junior and Lindokuhle suffered a loss during the mixed doubles challenge on Wednesday, Happy and
Nosipho lost in the quarter-finals as well. The team is coached by Bongani Simelane and Kylin Miller. Simelane said they remained hopeful that they would do well in the last remaining rounds.
“We are competing among people who have been playing this sport longer than us. But, we managed to give a good game with the little experience that we have.
“I am proud of our players they represented us well and showed bravery and courage throughout the tournament.
“This gives me hope that we can still win the double and individual stages,” explained Simelane.
He added that the team’s performance started slow but has shown improvement with each stage.
The following players will also take part in the individual challenges:
• Lindokuhle
• Nosipho
• Happy
• Junior
“We would also like to thank the Jobe Foundation and Vhuna Okuhle for assisting us with the trip,” he said.
