Ekurhuleni athletes test endurance at Cape Town Marathon before Comrades

Ekurhuleni athletes showcased determination and endurance, gaining valuable race experience ahead of the Comrades Marathon.

The City of Ekurhuleni Athletics Club was well represented at the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, held on May 23 and 24.

Athletes Mafelelo Khoza, Koketso Mokoka, Humbulani Makhari, Thabang Calvin Moloto, Amelia Masola, Glacias Moshitwa, Noko Phil Matlou and Oscar Kamogelo Phogole participated in the marathon, proudly representing the City of Ekurhuleni outside the province

The race started and finished at the DHL Stadium.

According to Matlou, who is also the club’s marketing manager, the event formed part of the club’s preparations for the Comrades Marathon, as they continue to build fitness and endurance ahead of the iconic ultra-marathon, which will take place this Sunday (June 14).
