Archibishop Mabena honoured for his years in ministry

Archibishop Jacob Mabena received honourary certificates for his work and years in ministry and was celebrated by his church.

Kwa-Thema – The United Church of Christ held an honorary service at Kwa-Thema Old Age Home on September 26. Various local churches and bishops attended.

The event honoured the church’s Archbishop Jacob Jappie Mabena, who has served in ministry for 47 years, spreading the Word of God, praying for the sick, and teaching God’s word.

Mabena received the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from the International Theological Seminary of California (ITSC) and the Ambassador for Peace from the Universal Peace Federation and the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace.

He expressed words of gratitude to the church and his family for the celebration.

He said being celebrated like this by friends, family, and the church shows how he has touched people’s lives through ministry.

“Being honoured while I am still alive means a great deal to me and I would like to say that people should carry on spreading the word of God and other leaders must be celebrated as well,” added Mabena.
