Spinners win against Home Defenders
The Junior Spinners beat Home Defenders during their Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) league game on Saturday.
The Junior Spinners’ U/11 team showed dedication and was eager to win their game against Home Defenders from the first minute of the game.
To help Spinners, Defenders’ defence skills did not work for them.
The game continued with supporters flocking into the complex in large numbers to support their teams.
Ten minutes into the game Spinners’ Mthobisi Mthombeni scored the first goal for his team, putting it in the lead.
Lethabo Madihlaba of the Spinners scored a second goal in the 15th minute of the game, extending the lead.
After this goal, supporters for both teams started to dance, blowing their vuvuzelas and singing songs of victory, while also coaching from the benches and adding spirit to the players.
Lindokuhle Mazibuko of the Defenders scored the team’s first goal shortly before the end of the first half.
The second half started with Spinners successfully fighting for another goal as Lebo Ndala scored a third goal.
Spinners continued with a strong attack, making Defenders’ goalie sweat.
He saved many goals during the second half, but let through three more scored by Lethabo and the last goal of the game put behind the net by Sihle Maseko.
This put Spinners in the lead, making them the eventual winners with a 7-1 final score.
