Mayweather ready for his fight
Tsakane boxer Mxolisi aims to bring his opponent to his knees before the last round.
Mxolisi “Big Me Mayweather” Nombewu is set to trade punches with KwaZulu-Natal boxer in the SA title elimination fight tomorrow at the Durban ICC.
Their six-round fight promises to be exhilarating, as Mxolisi says he is more than ready.
Mxolisi, who is part of the Geo-Maroon Boxing Club, has registered 10 wins, three losses and one draw to his name.
His last fight was at the Orient Theatre in East London on June 16 where he was crowned the champion after winning a fight by a knockout during the second round against Nasipho Mdlalose. Mxolisi says he will not be fighting for himself or the community of Kwatsaduza but dedicates this fight to his nephew, Kgotso Nombewu (16). “He has been there, supporting me regardless whether I win or lose the fight,” says smiling Mayweather.
Mayweather’s coach, Themba Zulu says his boy is more than ready for the fight and does not doubt that Mayweather will win the fight.
Themba, who is confident in his boxer, says Mxolisi is the next Simon Tsipa Skosana and Silence Mabuza.
Mayweather and Themba will be leaving the OR Tambo International Airport today (Friday).
