Digging deep for a win

Sunday entertainment during Tsamaya games.

It was the fifth game for both teams when they faced each other at Ntokozweni ground, KwaThema on Sunday.

Masimini went into the game desperate for their first win, with hopes of increasing their two points accumulated from their two draws.

DeepLevel on the other hand, had the advantage of six points from their two wins.

Wearing number 10, DeepLevel’s Prince Nyawo wasted no time in applying pressure on the opposition’s defence.

A great combination between Prince and Madoda Ntuli (number 11), created a wonderful scoring opportunity, which was also denied by Masimini, with their strong defence wall, which prevented the ball from even reaching the box.

The two teams played in favourable sunny conditions.

Gawe Vuyisile made a crucial move when he managed to clear the ball that Msimini was hoping to convert into a goal.

The game was still goalless going into half time.

The second half started with little action.

Masimini’s Thabo Mabena opened the scoring with an impressive goal, 17 minutes into the second half.

He attacked again shortly after, but the keeper tucked the ball safely in his arms.

Prince was persistent throughout the game and was eventually rewarded with an equaliser.

The last minutes of the game saw the referee blowing his whistle more to signal offsides, which were plenty.

However, it was substitute Ruben Lekala who scored the winning goal for DeepLevel, ending the game at 2-1.
