Spinners lose to East Rand
East Rand did not show mercy when beating Junior Spinners during the Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) game played at KwaThema Sports Complex.
The U/15 clubs showcased magnificent football under the hot weather on Saturday. The future of football looks bright, judging by the discipline and good play the young boys displayed.
Development coaches often say, goals do not matter – what is important is the development of the young boys in the field of play and winning is a bonus.
If that is the case, the side of East Rand got itself a bonus, as it scored three goals against one goal by the Spinners.
The first goal of the East Rand was an own goal mistakenly scored by the Spinners’ player during the 10th minute of the first half of the game.
Johannes Tshilwa scored the second goal for the East Rand while Maliviwe Baleni was the third goal scorer for the East Rand.
The game continued with the Spinners under an extreme pressure, playing hard to at least put one goal in their bag.
It was during the second half of the game when Spinners’ Nhlanhla Zwane scored a goal for his team. The whistle was blown to end the game with an overall score of 3-1.
