Ringball also known as Kofi, is a sport which has recently been introduced to young people in KwaThema.
According to the project director Bongani Radebe, a two day coaching clinic, focusing on fitness, defending, shooting and game skills took place on Tuesday and Wednesday at Bulithando park.
“Ringball is similar to netball, but has different rules and the court has extra markings compared to a netball court,” explained Bongani.
The sport is played by both males and females, and KwaThema currently has players in U/11 to U/19 categories.
A game is played by nine people on each team, and the two halves of the game last 20 minutes each.
