Sporo cuts through Rabbits OR Sporo roasts Rabbits

Getting maximum points

The U/17 Sporo and Rabbits faced each other during one of the Brakpan Local Football Association games, played at Malandela ground, Tsakane on Saturday.

Although Rabbits scored early through a free kick, it was Sporo who took home the points.

After many passes that seemed to be leading nowhere, Sporo managed to equalise within the first 30 minutes of the game.

Both teams were awarded corner kicks that created wonderful scoring opportunities, but didn’t capitalise on their chances.

It was a hand ball that led to the referee blowing his whistle to give a penalty to Sporo, and they made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

When the game was at half-time the score was 2-1, with Sporo occupying the leading position.

One of the challenges that seemed to affect Rabbits was the lack of communication and not knowing what to do with the ball once they reached Sporo’s 18 yard area.

Sporo sealed their win when Rabbits keeper was punished for leaving his box, making the final score 3-1.
