Sanders United win on penalty

The Springs Local Football Association teams are playing in the off season tournament to keep fit

To keep fit, the Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) teams play in the SLFA off season tournament.

After the end of the season, the teams’ officials organised the tournament for the U/15, 17 and premier teams.

The tournament started on June 8 and the final games are expected to be played on July 13.

On Sunday the premier teams played in the knock out quarter final games held at the KwaThema Sports Complex.

The winning teams proceeded to the semi-final games.

One of the games played on Sunday was between Jealous Down and the Sanders United.

It was an electrifying game which was well supported by many soccer fans who came out to give their support to the teams and gave them the strength to fight for a place in the semi-finals.

The game was never easy for either team and ended with a draw of 0-0.

No team wanted to take the defeat, but it was compulsory to have a winner.

To determine the winner,the game then proceeded to the penalty shoot out.

Sanders’ goalie worked hard to save his team from the elimination.

He saved more than three penalty goals by the Jealous Down players.

The game ended with an overall penalty score of 3-1 in favor of Sanders.
