Sweepers U/11 team is the champions

The U/11 SLFA League trophy was lifted up by the Springs Home Sweepers

The Springs Home Sweepers U/11 team was crowned the Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) champions.

The awards ceremony was held on Saturday at the KwaThema Sports Complex.

For the first time in the history of the SLFA league, the U/11 teams were also allowed to play during the last season.

The Springs Home Sweepers U/11 team took the first championship crown home.

The team walked away with gold medals for each player and a trophy.

Speaking on behalf of the team, coach Joseph Mkhonza said the young boys played well during the last season.

“Not only did my team do well, but all the U/11 teams have done their best,” said Mkhoza.

He said the skills that were shown by the young stars on the pitch brought back the confidence that he has about the soccer talent in Kwatsaduza.

“The future of football in this country depends on the young players that we train in the township,” concluded Mkhonza.
