New soccer team in KwaThema

The team was formed at the beginning of this year and has two age groups.

It has players playing for the U/13 and the U/15 teams.

Talking about the aim of forming a new soccer team despite having many soccer teams in the township, founder Vusi Radingwe said he started the team after he saw that there are still young boys who do not belong to any soccer teams in the community.

He said his aim is to also ensure that soccer grows in the township.

“KwaThema is known for producing the best soccer players who have played on a professional level and I want to fight and get back my township’s dignity and respect for football,” said a confident Radingwe.

He said it his dream that when the teams play at the KwaThema Sports Complex, the team managers from the professional soccer development teams are present to scout the talent and develop the young soccer stars.

Radingwe said both of his teams will be playing in the Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) games in the next season.
