Kyle joins Amazulu development team
Geluksdal - Kyle Petersen (10) joined the AmaZulu FC development team in January this year.
His selection came after he participated in trials held on January 25 in Durban.
Kyle’s soccer skills impressed and he was the only Gauteng player to be selected for the team.
The young centre mid-fielder has signed a five-year contract with the team.
He was also named deputy-captain of the squad.
“My role in the team teaches me patience and the ability to work well with others,” says an excited Kyle.
He says his dream is to play in the premier soccer league one day.
Kyle previously played for the Springs Home Sweepers U/13 team.
The future soccer star is thankful to his brother Caleb Petersen (14), who introduced him to soccer when he was five years old.
“My brother showed me how to kick and score,” says Kyle.
He also thanks Springs Home Sweepers’ coach Madoda Cindi for believing in him and giving him a chance to play on the team.
Cindi says Kyle is an excellent soccer player who will one day play in the national soccer team.
“His respect and discipline are the additional ingredients needed in the field of soccer,” he says.
