Successful soccer tournament held in Daveyton

Daveyton - The Majuteni soccer tournament was hosted at the Sinaba Stadium recently.

The Majuteni tournament was hosted by the Benoni North Football Association, the South African Football Association (SAFA) Ekurhuleni and supported by Build It.

Sixteen u/13 teams from Benoni North, Daveyton and Etwatwa battled it out for the title of Majuteni champions.

Teams displayed great skills but in the end it was Arsenal FC from Daveyton who were crowned champions after they beat Liver Pool FC 3-1 in the final.

“People were excited about the whole tournament and we wanted this to be an activity that benefited all 16 teams and not just one. As a result, all the teams received t-shirts and training gear,” says Bonginkosi Mchunu, the deputy of the regional executive office of SAFA Ekurhuleni.

“Every player in the final two teams received a trophy, a bag and a soccer kit.”
