Nkosi accepted to School of Excellence

Tsakane - Banele "Messi" Nkosi (13) has been accepted to the Transnet SAFA School of Excellence in Elandsfontein.

The school only accepts young soccer players that show the potential to be great soccer stars.

Out of 68 soccer players who trialed for the scholarship only 25 were granted the opportunity.

Nkosi attended the last leg of the trials in December where the youngsters were tested on their football skills and academic capabilities.

He will be starting his high school learning at the school when the schools re-open next week.

“I’m more than happy that I will be attending the Transnet SAFA School of Excellence and will have the opportunity to focus on my football career,” says Nkosi.

Coach Mxolisi Guntu says he is proud of his player for working hard to get a scholarship that most young players only dream of.

“He has made his family and team very proud and his now an inspiration to his peers and team mates,” he says.

Nkosi says he wants to be the best at the school and will work hard.

“I want to make my soccer peers and family proud by doing well in both my academics and soccer career.”
