Parents show their support
Geluksdal – Parents of Young Stars Football Academy showed support for their children while the u/13 team was preparing for the Orlando Pirates trials that took place recently in Johannesburg.
According to Nonhlanhla Mtshali, a parent, the support behind the boys was immense: parents came out to every match building up to the trials.
“Everyone was involved in the training and coaching of the young lads,” she explains.
“It was a good way of showing our children that we support their talent and want to see them grow in the sport.”
She explains the importance of players having moral support from their parents and family.
“Children thrive when they know they have their family behind them, so I am proud that we as parents of the soccer club, made an effort to be involved and cheer on our children,” she says.
The parents are also grateful for team coach, Tiaan Botha for being hands-on during the preparations and always putting the players first.
“He is an amazing coach who devotes his time to soccer development in the community and as parents we are humbled by his kindness,” adds Mtshali.
