WATCH: Promoting CP soccer in townships

Kwatsaduza - Coaches and cerebral palsy (CP) soccer players are invited to a sports workshop this weekend.

The initiative will be brought to you by the KwaThema Disability Sports Academy together with the Central Gauteng Sports Association for the Physically Disabled.

Chairman of the local academy, Aubrey Mathibela, says they encourage coaches and CP soccer players (senior and junior) to represent their schools or clubs in this event.

“We will have former Banyana Banyana coach Joseph ‘Skheshe-kheshe’ Mkhonza and former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Innocent Mayoyo present.

“The two sportsmen will give coaches and players demonstrations on how to better their skills in soccer.

“The aim of this initiative is to help in developing players, coaches, the sport locally and through this, players stand a chance to be selected to present the province at upcoming championships and SA School Games,” he says.

The coaching clinic workshop will take place on Saturday from 8am to noon at the KwaThema Stadium.

All those who are interested in attending are requested to take with them comfortable soccer clothes.
