Striders represent KwaThema at Nelson Mandela Marathon

KwaThema Striders took part in the Nelson Mandela Marathon.

KwaThema – KwaThema Striders Athletics Club participated in the annual 21km and 42.2km Nelson Mandela Marathon on Sunday.

The race started in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal and ended at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site in Howick. The race is one of the toughest races because of the Struggle Hill, which starts in Edendale and goes all the way to Hilton.

The athletes from KwaThema Striders who participated in the 42.2km were Sbusiso Mlengetshwane, Sanele Zumba, Tebogo Tsebe and Sbongiseni Skosana.

Those who participated in the 21km were Nstshomane Hoses Maila, Sbongile Mokoena, Mapule Komane and Kholiwe Khoza.

Striders will be heading to the Vaal River City Marathon in September.
