Sake wants sports grounds fixed for community to benefit
Learners from the Langaville Athletics, Health and Fitness Academy received 30 new pairs of school shoes on Tuesday afternoon.
KwaThema – Learners from the Langaville Athletics, Health and Fitness Academy received 30 new pairs of school shoes on Tuesday afternoon.
The academy’s chairperson, Sake Kgapola, says they have been asking for assistance from different corporations and eventually some came out to help.
Most of the learners at the academy are from disadvantaged backgrounds.
He also urges the municipality to renovate the Ntokozweni Heritage Sports Grounds, which officially opened in 2010 during the Soccer World Cup.

He says if the grounds can be renovated into a three in one grounds accommodating soccer, netball and athletics it can be very helpful to the local community.
He says athletics programmes have begun and they do not have a proper track field to prepare for the programmes.
Ivy Chauke, the executive secretary of the academy, says they are reopening their aerobics programme and anyone who wants to join can contact her on 078 250 3347.
