Local club receives kit and training equipment from the municipality

Coach Maruping Kgeletsane says this has lifted a heavy burden off the shoulders of many parents. Before the donation, parents had to buy their children training kit to be able to participate in tournaments.
Some parents had difficulties because the kit is expensive and some children come from disadvantaged families.
The coach says a pair of gloves costs about R800, boots and shins R450.
The municipality donated weights, gloves, tatami mats, glove protectors and other training equipment.

The coach says he has had to approach sponsors for the longest of time without success.
His wish is for prospective sponsors to offer financial help when they have tournaments.
The club had to turn down opportunities to participate in several tournaments because of their inability to pay the fees and finance accommodation.
He adds that the venue they use for training also needs renovations.
