Derby supporters calls for safety on the road

“We are wishing Banyana Banyana all the best in the AFCON (African Cup of Nations) games, Desiree Ellis".

Local Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates supporters say they are looking forward to the upcoming derby between the two teams in the Telkom Knockout at the Moses Mabhida stadium on Saturday.

The supporters from Langaville branches say they are expecting a good display of soccer on the pitch.

Kaizer Chiefs supporter Teka Matsepane says they are joining the national call by the Minister of Transport, Blade Nzimande, to abide by the rules of the road this festive season.

“Supporters travelling from all corners of the country to the game must ensure they don’t idibala (a new dance craze) while driving.

“Drivers must rest at all the designated resting areas, drive within the speed limits and don’t drink and drive.

“We are also calling on the supporters to be on their best behaviour inside the stadium.

“We are tired of seeing people killed and injured at the games all because the supporters don’t like the results of the game,” he says.

Matsepane says Kaiser Chiefs are going to regain their title as the winning team.

“The branch is predicting a 2-0 win,” he adds.

Orlando Pirates supporter Rangwane Makgabutlane says they are going to walk away as the champions of the day.

“Kaizer Chiefs are still trying to find their feet back in the game; we are going to use that to our advantage and are predicting a 1-0 win, this is our time.

“We are wishing Banyana Banyana all the best in the African Cup of Nations,” he says.
