“Academies like ours do not make money, therefore, support from local businesses helps us keep the academy going,” he said.
The academy meets four times a week over 11 months, starting in January and urges parents to send their children so as to keep them away from the streets, protecting them from adopting unhealthy habits.
Kgaphola says his vision is to see Langaville having developed sports facilities.
He says, “We need city standard grounds with track and field [facilities] for our athletes.”The Langaville Athletics Health and Fitness Academy will be holding an awards ceremony for their athletes on March 2, 2019, and will open, and start accepting new members, from January 7.
