Local athletes nominated for awards

Four local athletes from the KwaThema Disabled Sports Club have been nominated in the Paralympics Grand Prize Awards.

KwaThema – Four athletes – Harris Ngomane, Neo Ndlovu, Dimakatso Letageng and Nthabiseng Phala – from the KwaThema Disabled Sports Club have been nominated in the Paralympics Grand Prize Awards.

The awards ceremony will take place in Namibia on February 22 and 23.

Coach Aubrey Mathibela says he is very proud and would appreciate it if the community could assist them with travelling fees.

“We are very happy and excited about the nominations as we are already preparing for the Toyota National Championships.

“We are asking for donations and sponsorships from local businesses and the community at large.

“We are struggling with travelling costs and food, therefore a little help would go a long way,” says Mathibela.

Thirteen athletes and five soccer players from the club have qualified to partake in the Toyota National Championships in Port Elizabeth from March 20 to 25.
