“I started back in 2014, but at the time we were mainly focusing on elderly people.

“Now, we are open to any age group which has an interest in learning about fitness, eating healthily and anyone who would like to come and workout with us.

“I believe that exercising plays a very crucial role in our lives, which is why we are encouraging everyone to come and join,” says Khumalo.

They meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7am to 9am.

“We are encouraging mostly people who have aged because the older we get the more we face different health challenges and exercising has plenty of health benefits.

“We also have a garden for organic nutritional food,” he says.

They have 47 registered pensioners and are also working with local schools to promote physical fitness.

“We have partnered with local schools, where we visit different schools and do various exercises there, while also educating them about the importance of working out and eating healthy.

“Our major challenge is that we do not have a bigger space for training and carrying out our projects.

“My dream is to open a community gym where everyone can be able to exercise and socialise,” says Khumalo.

People who are interested are more than welcome to join the health club in Bluegum View.
