Meet 11-year-old Mathousand: Young Springs Home Sweepers player has his eyes set on becoming a professional player

The young soccer player is currently playing for Springs Home Sweepers as a middle fielder.

KwaThema – Eleven-year-old Siyabonga Mabena, AKA Mathousand, has dreams of becoming a soccer superstar one day.

“I started playing soccer at the age of five

“I enjoy it a lot and not a day goes by without me playing it.

“It helps keep me busy and in shape because I train almost every day.

Young player with big dreams.

“Soccer has given me a family outside of my immediate family and I encourage any of my friends to play soccer,” he says.

He says his favourite team is Bidvest Wits.

“My dream is to play for Bidvest Wits when I grow up, simply because it is a very disciplined team and there is no favoritism unlike the other teams from my observation.

“They play very clean football which is entertaining to watch,” He says.
