Real Barcelona new Ayoba u-11 champs

The top eight teams were Real Juventas, Ayoba, Real Barcelona, Clever Boys, Amavarara, Tornado Lions, Villa Rangers and Young Achievers.

Real Barcelona emerged as the champions of the Ayoba u-11 Development Tournament at Kwa-Thema Square on Sunday.
The top eight teams were Real Juventas, Ayoba, Real Barcelona, Clever Boys, Amavarara, Tornado Lions, Villa Rangers and Young Achievers.
In the quarterfinals Young Achievers, the only female team in the tournament lost to Clever Boys 10-1.
Ayoba lost to Amavarara from Delmas, 3-2.

In the third quarterfinal, Real Barcelona scored eight goals against Real Juventus, who only managed to score three.
Villa Rangers from Villa Liza thrashed Tornado Lions 6-2.
In the end, Villa Rangers landed in fourth place, with Amavarara third.
Real Barcelona and Clever Boys wrestled to a 1-1 draw. The game was decided in a penalty shootout that saw Real Barcelona being crowned the champions.
“I am happy with how the teams complied with the regulations,” said Slaughter Mutle, one of the tournament’s coordinators.

The tournament came to an abrupt halt in December due to Covid-19 regulations.
Ayoba-yo Soccer Academy’s Innocent Mayoyo hosted a Covid-19 compliance workshop for coaches in January.
“It starts at the club stages. Before the players can participate in any competition they need to understand what is expected of them and how to carry themselves,” he said.
Mutle is proud of the quality of soccer the young players displayed on the field.
